History Week

History Week is celebrated across Victoria.

Our History Week is an annual Shire-wide event held to reinforce and recognise Murrindindi history and culture, with supporters providing window displays, events, exhibitions and workshops.

24 – 31 October 2010

Get together and share some history by creating, a display or organising a fun event or activity during History Week. For example:

  • walks through your town and cemetery
  • opening of a heritage building
  • ask a local or invite someone to speak at the Library

  • display of photographs
  • old fashioned dance
  • picnic
  • for the children: colouring in drawings of local significant buildings, bridges, trees, birds or their new playground equipment

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU HAVE DECIDED:

  1. Complete the Registration Form by 31 July 2010
  2. Send to J. Laws, MHR History Week Coordinator, PO Box 288, Alexandra Vic 3714

Murrindindi will be celebrating History Week at the same time as the rest of Victoria. Murrindindi’s list of events will be displayed on the Royal Historical Society Victoria website, council event programs, visitor information centres and local papers.

We hope you can join us for a chance to showcase your town.
